🔮 One More Thing: Who gets a seat at your AI table?
If you’re seeing AI everywhere in slides but nowhere in your numbers, look at who is in the room when you make AI decisions. In most enterprises we visit, the steering committee is a familiar lineup: IT, security, data, a couple of business unit leads, and one or two vendors. The people who understand how humans actually experience change are missing.
The organizations that break through do something different: they intentionally bring non‑technical voices into the center of the conversation. Frontline employees who know how the actual work is done, HR leaders who think in terms of skills, career paths, and trust. Change professionals who know how to communicate, sequence, and support behavior shifts. Organizational designers who can redraw team structures when one person manages five agents, but no humans.
A diverse team setup changes the questions.
Instead of asking, “Which platform should we standardize on?” they ask, “What does a good job look like in a human–AI team, and how do we make that aspirational instead of threatening?”
Instead of asking, “How do we control shadow AI?” they ask, “How do we channel it into visible experiments with clear guardrails and shared learning?”
When HR, change, and org design sit alongside IT and data, the conversation shifts from installation to integration: how we hire, how we promote, how we measure contribution, and how we reward people who build and manage agents for the rest of the organization. That’s the real leverage point.
